Global leading tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (hereafter Hankook Tire) returned as the official sponsor of the Ballon d’Or in 2025. The golden trophy honored the best performances in professional soccer over the past season and is the world’s most prestigious individual award in soccer. This year’s award ceremony took place in the impressive Théâtre du Châtelet in the French capital Paris on 22nd September 2025.
Since its establishment in 1956 by the sports publication “France Football”, the Ballon d’Or has evolved from a European to a global standard for individual excellence in soccer. 2025 will be Hankook Tire’s second consecutive year sponsoring the award. The partnership included both parties being able to use the other’s brand logos, and the Hankook Tire logo being prominently placed along the red carpet and in the press areas. In addition, digital activities on UEFA and Hankook Tire channels helped strengthen supporters’ emotional brand loyalty worldwide.
Hankook Tire and the Ballon d’Or: A partnership with international appeal With its renewed commitment to the Ballon d’Or, Hankook Tire is confirming its global sponsoring strategy, which targets partnerships with international reach. It focuses on first-class and attention-grabbing sports formats, with sponsorship of events like the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and FIA World Rally Championship, as well as the UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League and Borussia Dortmund.
Jongho Park, President and COO of Hankook Tire Europe, explains: “We are proud to continue our partnership as sponsors of the Ballon d’Or, one of the most prestigious awards in global sport. The Ballon d’Or has shaped football history and holds international appeal far beyond the sporting world.
