RSVP for RPRA’s Annual Public Meeting and Understanding Ontario’s Producer Responsibility Regulatory Framework event on June 21
This news item was updated on June 8, 2023 to reflect that in-person seats for the Annual Public Meeting have been sold out and a limited number of seats are still available for the Learning Series Event.
On the morning of Wednesday, June 21, 2023, RPRA is holding its Annual Public Meeting in person for the first time since the start of the pandemic at St. James Cathedral Centre in Toronto. Later that afternoon, RPRA is hosting a Learning Series Event on Understanding Ontario’s Producer Responsibility Regulatory Framework at the same venue. Stakeholders can also choose to join virtually as the two events will be livestreamed.
During the Annual Public Meeting, RPRA’s Board Chair Robert Poirier, CEO Frank Denton, and Registrar Mary Cummins will share an update on key activities, milestones, and financial performance from 2022.
This Learning Series Event is designed to help registrants from the Batteries, Blue Box, Hazardous and Special Products, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Audio-visual Equipment, Lighting, and Tires programs understand more about Ontario’s transition to the producer responsibility framework, RPRA’s role in the framework, and what to expect from RPRA as a regulator. Attendees will hear from RPRA staff; Charles O’Hara, Director of the Resource Recovery Policy Branch of the Ontario Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks; and Étienne Tremblay-Guérin, Senior Competition Law Officer of the Competition Bureau. This event is also a great opportunity to network with others in the industry. More information on this event can be found on our Learning Series Event webpage.
Registration is still open and the deadline to RSVP to join in person is June 12. Due to limited seating, registration for in person is on a first come first served basis and is limited to two people per organization. There is no RSVP deadline to join virtually.
