With its first race held at the Zhuzhou International Circuit, the fifth season of the series celebrates the 70th anniversary running of the Macau Grand Prix and continues to see young aspiring racers compete to achieve the necessary qualifications and experience towards their dream of racing at the F1 races. As a long-time partner and supporter of the series, Giti tires have been seen at the races attached to Tatuus F4 T421 GEN2 cars with Autotecnica Motori-prepared Fiat Abarth turbocharged 1.4cc 160hp engines.
Starting again after a 4-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Giti is happy to once again be supporting these budding young talents on their journey to become top racers. Provided with a combination of 180/550-13 and 240/570-13 GitiCompete GTR1 tires, the race is a true reflection of the driver’s skill to adapt to the given circumstances. This race also allows these young drivers to learn about the cars, tires and engines in the APAC region closer to them rather than having to travel to Europe to learn these basics of racing.
“It is always an honour and pleasure to be at the Formula 4 races, especially the Southeast Asian Championship. Our team continues to tireless work with the racers to help them realize their best performance on Giti tires” commented Mr Mark Zhu, R&D Manager for Motorsports at Giti Tire, when he was asked about Giti’s participation in the Formula 4 races. “We are happy to be in Macau this year as the Macau Grand Prix celebrates their 70th anniversary and Giti continually looks forward to working closely with racers and organisers to bring tires that help the racers achieve their best performances.”
The GitiCompete GTR1 tires are Giti’s premier circuit racing tire range that have slick and semi-slick versions that are built to provide control and performance in their respective dry and wet conditions. Going beyond pure track tires, Giti’s competition range also includes products that can take on various challenges across terrains and weathers, showing Giti’s dedication to creating a tire for all the different styles of driving to take on all the challenges that may be thrown at them, on or off the road.
