Tire Recycling Fees Increase in Quebec

In 1999, the province introduced the Quebec Integrated Used Tire Management Program, which charges a $3 duty on new tires to fund tire recycling. But it’s running out of money, and expected to be in the red as of next year. …

As of July 1, the duty will be $4.50 for new tires with an overall diameter of 33 inches or less, and $6 for new tires with a rim diameter up to 48.5 inches. …
