The Goodyear Tire & Rubber (NASDAQ:GT) said it is planning to close its manufacturing facility in Kariega, South Africa in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) business unit, resulting in about 900 job reductions.
The job cuts, which are expected to be substantially completed by the end of this year, include associates and contracted positions, the company said in a filing, adding that the total charges associated with this action are expected to be between $100 million and $110 million.
