Yokohama Launches New 121T™ for Regional Heavy-Duty Trailering Use

The 121T™ is specifically engineered for regional heavy-duty trailer use, such as drop-deck and heavy-haul applications. Rated for severe snow service in all weather conditions, it is offered in two sizes — 215/75R17.5 and 235/75R17.5.

“At Yokohama, we understand that commercial tires have to perform in unique and often gruelling ways, including moving heavy equipment around from site to site,” said Diana Colosimo, Brand Development Manager for Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. “With its distinctive tread pattern and rigid shoulder design, the 121T™ is fit for work in Canada, no matter the season or weather conditions.”

Features and benefits of the 121T™ include:

  • A three-groove tread pattern that reduces rolling resistance and external noise, to help save fuel, while delivering a quiet ride.
  • Serpentine grooves that efficiently remove water from under the tread to provide top-notch traction on wet and snowy roads. Also, precisely engineered concave lug features provide additional traction in wet or slippery conditions.
  • A ridged shoulder design reduces the chances for shoulder step-down wear and improves straight line stability, enhancing durability. Additionally, funnel-shaped step grooves prevent stones and debris from reaching the bottom of the groove to lessen the chance of casing damage.
