BKT Tires to Sponsor World Curling Championships in Canada Through 2026

BKT Tires will continue as the title sponsor of the next three world championship events staged in Canada, beginning with the BKT Tires World Women’s Curling Championship 2024, scheduled for 16–24 March at Centre 200 in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

BKT Tires first got involved with curling in 2020 as a co-title sponsor of the 2020 Continental Cup of Curling in London, Ontario. Since then, the company has been involved as a title sponsor of international curling events on a yearly basis, including the World Men’s Curling Championship 2021 in Calgary, the 2023 event in Ottawa and the World Women’s Curling Championship 2022 in Prince George, British Columbia.

World Curling Federation President, Beau Welling said, “On behalf of our Board, I would like to express my gratitude for BKT Tires for their continued interest and generous support for our sport. We are convinced that with their help, our world championships in Canada will be delivered on an extremely high standard. Thank you, BKT Tires!”

Curling Canada Interim Chief Executive Officer, Danny Lamoureux, said, “BKT Tires has been a passionate supporter for our sport and Curling Canada’s Season of Champions, and we couldn’t be more excited to know that we will continue to be working with them for the next three years.

“It shows the value of curling as a sponsorship property, in Canada and around the world, and we’re happy to see BKT Tires showcased in this way.”

BKT Tires Joint Managing Director, Rajiv Poddar, said, “In the world of curling, where precision and performance meet on the ice, BKT is proud to be a driving force behind a championship that unites fans worldwide.

“Our commitment to curling matches our belief in the power of sport to foster positive values and connections within society. We look forward to many more exciting moments on the ice and a bright future together with curling’s passionate community.”

BKT Europe Managing Director, Lucia Salmaso, said, “When thinking of Canada, the first things that come to my mind are its vast landscapes, friendly people and, of course, world-class curling. BKT’s relationship with Curling Canada is not new, and today I am really excited to say that our partnership is not only going strong, but it is getting even stronger.”

While the Group foundation dates back to the 1950s, Balkrishna Industries Limited (BKT) started its off-highway tire business in 1987. For more than 30 years, BKT has successfully focused on specialist segments such as agricultural, construction and industrial, as well as earth-moving, port and mining, ATV and gardening applications. As a result, BKT has developed into a global player in the off-highway tire industry, offering an extensive product range of more than 32,700 high-performance specialist tires sold in more than 160 countries worldwide.
