The Financial Times has once again included Nokian Tyres on the Europe’s Climate Leaders list. Being listed reflects the company’s strong progress in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and it is a recognition Nokian Tyres has earned every year since the ranking began in 2021. The list is compiled annually by the Financial Times and the research firm Statista, analyzing data of about 3,000 European companies.
The list includes 600 companies across all industries that have made the most significant progress in reducing their greenhouse gas emissions over a five-year period. Nokian Tyres ranked 29th. Besides Nokian Tyres, only one company from the Automobiles & components sector made it to the Top 100, and Nokian Tyres was the highest-scoring tire manufacturer.
“From using mostly renewable energy to building the world’s first full‑scale zero‑CO₂‑emissions* tire factory, our climate actions help pave the way for more sustainable mobility. We want to offer drivers safe, high‑quality tires that are made with continuously lower environmental impact as we continue moving toward net‑zero greenhouse gas emissions. This ranking by the Financial Times is a great recognition of our work,” says Susanna Tusa, VP of Public Affairs and Sustainability at Nokian Tyres.
The ranking is based on companies’ results in reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions and emissions intensity as well as further climate-related commitments and collaboration with sustainability assessors, such as CDP and the Science Based Targets initiative. You can find the complete list and the detailed methodology at Europe’s Climate Leaders 2026: interactive listing.
