Did a couple of innovative Guelph entrepreneurs play a role in the evolution of the automobile tire? A newspaper headline from more than a century ago hints at it.

“GUELPH MEN ARE OUT WITH A NEW IDEA” announced the front page of the Guelph Daily Mercury on Dec. 2, 1916. “Messrs. Hartnett and Flath Have Been Offered Good Price For Their Idea.”
